 Carlos Tevez scored a late winner against a resiliant Stoke side after he was set up by substitute Dimitar Berbatov. The 3 points mean that if United win their game in hand they'll only be 1 point behind Liverpool at the most.

 Wayne Rooney's late winner saw off LDU to mean United are crowned Champions of the World. Manchester United will reflect back on this tournament as a success albeit at what cost it is not yet known after Nemanja Vidic was sent off in the second half. Never-the-less given the celebrations it seems to back up the players and manager's words that they were going to give their best to win this and take it seriously.

Gamba Osaka coach's words before the match that they would attack United weren't shy of the mark and it was in attack that they proved the biggest thorn for the red devils. However their defence was in the holiday mood and Man Utd were happy to accept all the gifts that came their way.

As it turns out the point might not prove so costly with the other members of the top 4 all being held to points by debatabley worse opposition.
