Brede Hangeland scored a late goal at both ends as Fulham claimed a thrilling 2-2 draw against Manchester United at Craven Cottage.The defender looked to have gifted United victory when he unwittingly diverted a corner into his own net six minutes from time. But he went from villain to hero as he powered in a superb 90th-minute to give Fulham a deserved share of the points.Seconds earlier, Nani missed a penalty that would have given United a 3-1 advantage.

United hit League of Ireland XI for seven

An injury to Michael Carrick was the only sour note as Manchester United christened the new Lansdowne Road with a 7-1 win over a League of Ireland XI in Dublin.

Ji-Sung Park scored twice, and there were goals from Michael Owen, Javier Hernandez, Antonio Valencia, Jonny Evans and Nani at the newly named Aviva Stadium.

Dave Mulcahy scored a consolation for the League of Ireland XI late in the game.
