Man Utd vs Wigan

We interviewed a Wigan and a Man Utd fan ahead of tonights Premier league encounter to get their thoughts on their respective teams campaign so far and how they think they'll line up against each other tonight.

Wigan's fan answer is in blue and United's in red

e.g. A. This would be the Wigan's fan answer

A. This would be United fan answer

Many thanks to Worbo at for the answers

Q. How would you rate your season so far, better than your expectations, if so have you got revised aims?

A. Before the season started I would have plumped for a mid-table finish, so to be in 7th at the half-way stage is fantastic, the really big positive is that we deserve to be where we are as well, we have played some really good football and been unlucky in matches losing two that we should have won, Middlesbrough at home and Liverpool away.

With the way we are playing at the moment I would like to see us challenge Everton for that 6th spot and maintain the challenge till the end of the season and not fade away, European football at the JJB is a distinct possibility

A. Initially it has been a poor season, lack of goals and struggling against the big 4 but recently that has got better. Our aims are the same as ever, win everything but most importantly defend the trophies from last season.

Q. Who has been your best player so far?

A. We have had some top performers this season, Amr Zaki has been a revelation, strong, pacey an eye for goal, Antonio Valencia is coming on leaps and bounds and he is the subject of a £17 million bid from Real Madrid, Titus Bramble has been immense for us at the back and Chris Kirkland a titan in the nets, but for me the difference this season has been Lee Cattermole

Cattermole is a dynamo, hard in the tackle, can play a bit and never stops running, at 20 his best is yet to come and all expectations are he will be with us next season

A. Vidic i'd have to say...Evra has been out recently otherwise it'd be him...
Carrick had a spell out as well...Rooney has perhaps been the most inspiring

Q. Any aspects of your season disappointing?

A. Our performances in the cups has been a let down, for clubs outside the top 4 a good cup run lifts the profile of the club and also gets the fans excited, but we performed very poorly against Arsenal youth in the Carling cup and Brucie played the reserves down at Spurs in the FA cup

A: Our slow start was a big concern, dropping two points in our first game of the season at home to Newcastle who we smashed 6-0 last season. We still haven't found our scoring boots on a continual basis yet.

Q. Who are you tipping for the title?

A. Early season I would have said Chelsea but the way they have played recently I don’t think they will manage a challenge this season, Arsenal aren’t good enough, its too soon for Villa and Liverpool will surely fade away, so that leaves United to win it again

A: Manchester United, of course!

Q. What is the expected line up?

A. Team should be 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 depending on whether we are attacking or defending , the line up should be:

Melchiot, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa
Valencia, Cattermole, Palacios, Taylor
Heskey, Zaki

A. Foster/ Kuz

Rafael, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea

Ronaldo, Carrick,  Anderson, Nani

Berbatov, Tevez

Go out and attack from the start get the game won as soon as possible, all liklihood Fergie will fresh the team up and has said that much. The front duo need games. While Neville and Giggs won't start two games in a row.

Q. Who do you see as United's dangerman and weak link?

A. Rooney always scores against us and I hope Fletcher plays in midfield because that will give us a chance

A. Not sure of the weak link...if Zaki finds form again then our defence has to look they are a very tall team so set pieces are a danger

Q. Prediction
1-1 (fingers crossed)
