It’s been a busy week for Manchester United and everyone involved with the club, so let’s start with the premiership tie at Fratton Park. United crashed to a 2-1 defeat to Portsmouth last weekend

.It has been a horrible week for united fans after losing in Roma and conceding 3 points in the premiership. Goals from Matthew Taylor and a clanger by Rio Ferdinand and goalkeeper Van Der Sarr gifted the south coasters a 2-1 and defender John O’shea grabbed a late goal but it was too late for united, it also gifted Chelsea with belief as they cut united’s reign at the top of the premiership to just 3 points as they saw off Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the lunch time kick off. Manchester United meet Chelsea for the penultimate game of the season which could prove to be the title decider at Stamford Bridge, this could be the premiership everyone’s been waiting for and it looks like its going right down to the wire.

United headed into there champions league quarter final, second leg at Old Trafford 2-1 down. It wasn’t impossible to turn this tie around but united needed to work hard.

A scintillating display by Manchester United saw them tear Roma apart to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in 5 years.

Michael Carrick opened the scoring with a lovely stunning strike, which was his first Champions league goal and Alan Smith fired home with a glorious first-time strike and Wayne Rooney added their third of the night, finishing off a superb move.

Cristiano Ronaldo fired into the bottom corner which ironically was his first goal in the Champions league proper he also slid home a Ryan Giggs’ cross before Carrick smashed home a sixth.

Roma scored a constellation goal through Daniele De Rossi before Patrice Evra's low shot rounded off United's amazing 8-3 aggregate win.

United will take on AC Milan or Bayern Munich in the last four as they look to book their place in this year's final in Athens on 23 May.

United are still in the FA cup with a semi final tie at Villa Park against premiership opposition Watford. In the other FA tie Chelsea play Blackburn rovers at Old Trafford. So if united see off Watford they could play Chelsea in the first major event to be played at the new Wembley.

The answer on everyone lips are…. Can Manchester united repeat their epic 1998/1999 season and win another unprecedented treble?

In my next article I will be explaining why I am a United fan and also describing my first time watching the red devils live.

Since the article was written United and Chelsea have both won their ties and will meet each other in May at the new Wembley for the final.
