Man Utd have all but secured the signatures of Nani, 20 and Anderson, 18 from Sporting Lisbon and FC Porto respectively. Both are attacking midfielders/wingers and along with the imminent arrival of Hargreaves go somewhere to improving our so called midfield "crisis".
Anderson who has been dubbed the next Ronaldinho and won the player of the tournament award at the U-17 World Cup in 2005 is the surprise signature of the two after no inclination of such a deal was about to take place. According to reports emerging this evening United beat off competition from Barcelona and Chelsea to secure the deal, subject to a medical and work permit. It appears that despite news reporting that Nani had signed a new deal the deal was only under consideration by the player and never actually signed and United took advantage of this to quckly nip in and seal the deal. Despite Fergie being quoted as saying United were after 3 big signings it appears that he is still after a striker to seal the summer signing. But an expensive signing is unlikely without a player being sold so it seems Torres or Huntleear are out of the question. Bent or Viduka seem more likely. Keep up to date with the transfer news and see videos of our two new players on the forum.
