Owen over the moon after downing the blues
match reportMichael Owen scored in nearly the 6th minute of injury time in possibly the best derby ever to give the red half of Manchester reason to smile in the face of a 4-3 win. United took the lead 3 times prior to Owen's goal and each time were undone by poor defending that allowed City to equalise. However it was a controversial winner given 4 minutes of injury time were indicated.

Scholes sends United home with 3 points
match reportA stubborn Besiktas side and a scintilating home crowd made United's task an even harder ordeal without taking into account time differences. In the end the winning goal came from a player, who but for circumstances on Saturday, may not have played tonight. Rooney leads the line
match reportWayne Rooney led United to victory as they fought back and won with eventual ease after going a goal down within a minute of the start. A Giggs free kick and Anderson's first competitive goal for the red devils meant the away team took a 2-1 lead in at half time. Despite the sending off of Paul Scholes it was the reds who continued to dominate and press for a goal and the goal came courtesy of Wayne Rooney tucking the ball between Cudicini's legs after being played through by the magnificient Fletcher.

Man Utd should have been home and dry before Van Persie knocked in an injury time equaliser, only for it to be ruled offside.

United rout Wigan as Owen gets off the mark
match reportAs the half time whistle went fans could be forgiven for feeling slightly anxious about the number of missed chances. However they need not have worried as just 5 minutes into the second half Wayne Rooney opened the scoring, heading in Valencia's cross. Berbatov soon added an un-orthodox second, a deflected second goal for Rooney made it three before Owen and Nani added one each.

Blake bullet brings Burnley a boost
match reportAfter 33 years outside the top flight Burnley marked their first home game of the season in style with a 1-0 win over United. The red devils looked out of ideas for large parts of the match and although they created a few chances they failed to take any with even Carrick's penalty being saved.
