Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty was the only difference between the teams in the scoreline but for anyone who watched the match it was clear City deserved nothing. Especially after Ball deliberatley stamped on Ronaldo's abdomen leaving a clear stud mark in the Portugese's flesh. This set the tone for how Ronaldo was treated the only afternoon and it is a minor miracle how incompetent one referee can be after failing to punish Ball once with a card. In the end it was Balls' foul in the penalty box which finally went for United and Cristiano calmly slotted it away. |

Manchester United were thoroughly beaten by a classy Milan side in the pouring rain at the San Siro on Wednesday night ending United's chance of emulating the 99' treble success. An early goal from Kaka set the tone for the rest of the match with United never really looking like they would trouble Milan's well organised defence. Seedorf added a second following a defensive mistake between Heinze and Vidic then to cap off a poor evening Gilardinho added the third and final nail in United's European coffin. |

Fast forward 40 minutes the whistle is blown at Stamford Bridge and Eagles has just scored United's 4th goal of the match which means there is a 5 point gap at the top after Chelsea conceded an equaliser. 40 minutes makes a big difference. |
